Shopping  Mall  'Al Ain'  ....

A new landmark in the emirate of Abu Dhabi,  The Al Ain Mall,...

The project's owner and operator, Al Hamed Enterprises, told the Press that the 100,000 sq m three-storey mall has a distinctive modern architectural design. The Al Ain Mall has several anchor stores, a 3,700 sq m family entertainment centre, a 12-lane bowling alley and an ice-skating rink, four cinemas, a food-court and covered parking for 1,000 cars on the ground floor.

The Mall is located in the Al Kuwaitnat-Al Muraba'a area of Al Ain, the mall is easily accessible from all parts of the city.

Mall's first floor accommodates retail outlets with a net leasable area of around 33,000 sq m that can be flexibly divided into a variety of sizes to fit different needs. Wide corridors provide access to all retail areas. The second floor, with a net leasable area of around 33,000 sq m, has four cinemas with a total capacity of 1,000 seats. This floor also has the entertainment arcade area and the food-court with nine outlets and a large seating area.

The mall's elegant facade is primarily concrete interspersed by elements of reflective glass. The concrete is painted with finishes in co-ordinated tasteful pastels. Inside the mall, the floors sport beautiful patterned ceramic tiles, while those in the shops have a smooth concrete screed. All the walls are painted while decorative acoustic panels have been installed for the ceilings. An air-conditioning unit with main power supply is provided in each shop. The external areas and roads around the mall have been lit so as to draw attention to the entrances. Computer-controlled rainbow floodlights have been mounted at ground and second floor levels to illuminate the mall's facade.

The mall is equipped with generators to provide uninterrupted power supply to essential services in the event of a power failure. Security systems for the mall consist of closed-circuit television systems with cameras mounted at the entrances, external doors, entry and exit positions of the car-park and lift lobbies.

The UAE's third Holiday Inn hotel....

The UAE's third Holiday Inn hotel opens in Dubai this month.

The Holiday Inn Bur Dubai will become the 61st Holiday Inn property in the region, with another 15 Holiday Inn properties currently under development.

The hotel's general manager, Robert Rosetti, said: "In true Holiday Inn tradition, we will develop close links with the local community, and become a focal point for business, social and leisure activities."

The Holiday Inn Bur Dubai establishes the chain's presence on both sides of Dubai's creek, with the Holiday Inn Downtown already popular with business and leisure travellers.

Featuring a unique, Mediterranean-style atrium, with a grand marble staircase leading to the first floor, the Holiday Inn Bur Dubai has 240 beautifully designed guest rooms, including several suites, as well as an executive floor with its own lounge.

In-room facilities include multi-channel satellite TV with interactive facilities.

Diners have a choice of seven food and beverage outlets including three restaurants serving Italian, Lebanese and Mexican cuisine.

Another of the hotel's unique features is its range of rooftop facilities for guests and club members, including a health club, jogging track, outdoor swimming pool and bar, sauna, solarium, steam bath, massage and aerobics rooms.

Meeting and banqueting facilities include a ballroom for up to 450 delegates, for seminars, conferences, and social events.

Events....The Mega Wedding Exhibition 2003

Dome Exhibitions said the participants at the Mega Wedding Show range from designers to manufacturers and retailers of clothes, cosmetics and gifts; florists, decorators; make-up artists and event organisers.

Among the leading Asian designers showcasing their haute couture, bridal trousseaux, evening clothes and wedding ware are J.J. Vallaya, Krishna Mehta, Roopa Vohra, Ragini Singhania, Vachi, and Total Bride, from India; Ayesha Saaed from Pakistan and Mahin Khan from Bangladesh.

The Arabian wedding shares a lot in common with its Indian counterpart - in the elaborate detailing, in the length and duration of its celebration, in its family agenda, and in its grandeur.
